The Voice of Madness

The story started

Once upon a…

Midnight scream

Paranoid delusions

Waltzed lopsided

Down dark paths

Leading me deep

Into its labyrinth

Along the way

Alice welcomed me

As she skipped past

She had shaved her head

And had grown a tail

I bid her a quick farewell

Jack sat alone and sad

On a cracked sidewalk

Flashing his broken smile

While Jill sat flirting

With a lantern full of fire

While those things

That go BUMP in the night

Carried Wifi screens

Lighting up the hollows

Where the always heres

Found the never beens

Somewhere between

A golden brick road

And a rainbow of lies

The story ended

On a narrow path

With a slender man

Named madness
