Mother Nature

Celebrating the wonder of Life and beauty

The Heart of Sassy Lassie

Mother Nature

Oh how She does make my heart sing
on the darkest of days that only she can bring
Turning the brightest, bluest skies
into harshest rains to renew and baptize

This realm here, this Earth She rules

Part magic, part whimsy like the flowering tree
attracting the fuzzy, pollen covered bee

Sunbeams and dew drops on fields of pine green
to warm and quench thirst to all those unseen;
From the elephant mighty with tusk and trunk
to the inchworm so tiny and the smell of the skunk

Horses that gallop the plains of gold grasses
being watched overhead by the migrating masses
The oaks as they dance in want of the rains
and tadpoles now born in the pools that remain

And canyons so vast with ancient formations

PEOPLE DOING GOOD THINGS

Good Things

HASTYWORDS

I have been so super busy getting my post divorce life in order that I had to hit PAUSE for just a short time on my #BeREAL series.  But I have some great voices left to share soon.

In the meantime though…

I want to share a few good things to offset the negativity that has been lurking on all the social sites lately.  I mean, we have election time coming up and we are seeing the worst in people unabashedly stepping out from the shadows and they are barking.

So something good.

My friend Byron Hamel just finished a wonderful film about a group of tough bikers who are fighting child abuse.

“The mission of the Guardians of the Children (GOC) is to recognize and react to child abuse and educate the public to do the same; to serve as advocates to provide strength and stability to families in crisis…

By My Own Admission #4 – S.L. Heaton

Shawna rants on a subject too often in need a a good rant.

Nicole Lyons

By my own admission…dick pics are not welcome here.

Gentlemen…oh wait…I’m not talking to you. Let me start over…GUYS…much better! This is for the typical guy…you know the one. He’s the one commonly referred to as “douche”.

How have we arrived at place in this world where sending a “dick pic” has become more common than opening a fucking door? And for that matter…more acceptable?

It may be presumptuous of me to say this but I believe I speak for the majority in this instance. What ever happened to common decency and a conversation. You will never win me over with a “dick pic”…I need to know that you are ruled by something more than your second brain. For instance…show me there is something that rattles around in your skull besides thoughts of your own penis…show me substance.

Just for your information…the penis is not pretty. I’m more interested in…

The Heart of Leadership

Leadership with heart and mind.

My audible groan is not appreciated. They are looking at me without warmth.
I slightly surprise myself – oh, bugger. Did I make that noise out loud?

What is on the table at this particular design meeting is the integration of a case study. This case study, or variations of it, has been used for the past 4 years with great success. It enables a venerated Professor type from London School of Harvard Tech or wherever to join the programme and work with the leaders. He talks them through something about growth in emerging markets. It’s interesting. They do stuff on it. They discuss and puzzle. They learn.

I really like the Prof – he’s looks good for his age (I’m guessing 60?) and has been doing this leadership stuff for over 30 years all over the world. We have this amazing conversation about a recent Desert Walk he undertook…
