HOME INTERNET IS DOWN

My home internet service(and phone) went down Sunday night, possibly associated with one of my tall pine trees being hit by lightning (pictures, eventually).  So, about all I can do this week is get to the library and sort email every day.  The phone company (cue Ernestine – “We don’t care.  We don’t have to.  We’re the phone company.”) says they might get to me on Saturday or Monday.  I’ll try to catch up on blog posts when I’m back on line.  [sigh]

    1. It has been frustrating. I finally had to change suppliers. Frontier Communications seems to have taken the “Ernestine” position – “We don’t care. We don’t have to. We’re the phone company.” I’m just beginning to plow through the 600 new blog posts that accumulated.

      1. I don’t understand, What happened with your old supplier? (You mean ISP provider?)
I can imagine how frustrating it is, though. I hate dealing with my cable co/ISP. I use Spectrum. They are ok, but cost an arm and a leg. I might drop TV again eventually — not sure it’s really worth it. I can catch news shows I really need to see online anyway.

      2. The phone system here got lightning zapped the night of July 1, taking with it my DSL connection and killing my modem. With no sign or word of repair after 10 days, I called a local (based in town) cable company and they were here to hook me up the next day (yesterday) for just internet and phone.
