My contribution to the Writing Prompt, She Must Be Mad

Brave & Reckless

Mad? You say she’s mad?
She must be to so complain
To challenge how it’s always been
To think she could ever be his equal
To deny his right to the use of her
To so fly in the face of the natural order
To not understand that God is male
To seek to define her own place
To not accept there must always be
One above and one below and
Deny his right to be above her
And make him fear
She means to rule over him
No, it is not that sort of “Mad”
It is not insanity
It is rage
It is fed up to barfing
On the lies and bullshit
On the abuse and disrespect
Yes, she is mad, mad as Hell
And she will not be silenced

Featured Post: she must be mad – Tamara Fricke

Tamara Fricke – Mad? Yes, and NO

Brave & Reckless

stark raving
and bat shit smeared
I care nothing for anything
that does not rejoice
in my sister’s curves

that does not dissolve
in the plaited luxury
of her voice

that refuses to surrender
to a body of knowledge
more profound
than Challenger Deep

“she must be mad”
only scratches the surface
of 30 days of bleeding
of 15 years of conceding
of 45 years of screaming
for the dying cacophony
smothered in unrelenting
testosterone leaded folds

I no longer know
when anger and insanity
fused and usurped my blood
but certainty foretells
this red bolt lightning will repeat
with rejoined acuity
singing for the anglerfish
weeping ink in the stalls
equanimously sure
I am not mad
at all

Featured Post: She Must Be Mad – Marie Prichard

Marie Prichard – Is she mad? F-yes.

Brave & Reckless

She is a lady, a loving wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, and an educated, contributing member of society. And fuck is her favorite word.

Is she mad?

Fuck. Fuck me. Fuck you. Fuck it. A well-placed fuck used alone, as a noun or as a verb, makes all the difference in the world when she’s expressing herself.

When she’s in a good mood, she likes to say it with a smile on her face and a lilt in her voice: “Fuck yeah!”

When she’s sad, she can stretch it out for an impressive amount of time: “Fuuuuuuuuuuuck me.”

But when she’s enraged––and she finds herself enraged quite a bit these days––the words just bubble up and out they come: “Fuck! Fuck you! Fuck it! Fuck off! FUCK!”

I wonder if she’s mad?

To those who tell her that fuck is not a dainty or ladylike word, she says…

Hacked

Stephanie Bennett-Henry – Hacked on Face Book

Stephanie Bennett-Henry

Well, idk what to say. Looks like I now have access to this page. Who knows how long that will last. As for Raging Rhetoric, I have been removed as an admin. I do not have control over that page. I have spent the last 5+ years on that page. Building it up. And it looks like it was all for nothing. I cannot get FB to respond to me other than an automated email that tells me my account has been disabled, which I already know.

Please please please if you can- report to FB in anyway whatsoever to let them know that my personal FB account has been disabled and someone has gone into my pages and removed me as an admin on Raging Rhetoric and added themselves. I have made a cyber crimes report. Who knows if that will help.

I am really at a loss for…

Saturday Afternoon Poetry

Christine Ray – Tender loving care

Brave & Reckless

bare skin glides against
my rough edges
like warm sand
you buff my contours smooth
mouth tracing the trail of my vertebrae
you become cartographer
of my ridges and valleys
before breathing electricity
along my spine
bold fingertips find the places I ache
work me like clay
patiently loosen the knots
I have tied myself into
until I exhale the pain
the tension
into your kiss
your palms
I become silk flowing through your arms
sighs against your neck
arching into your body’s poetry
until we are a tangle of arms and legs
against damp sheets
consciousnesses floating free
no longer bound by time and frail flesh

Daily Writing Prompt: she must be mad

The Daily Writing Prompt for 8/31 – She Must Be Mad

Brave & Reckless

Throughout the month of August, I will be providing a daily writing prompt based on the title of a seminal feminist book. I am sure that not all of you define yourself as feminists, but I have very carefully chosen titles that I thought could be creatively inspiring to anyone.  You certainly don’t need to be a feminist to participate, nor does your response piece need to be written from a feminist perspective.  These are designed to inspire you to write a poem, prose piece, or a piece of flash fiction in 30 minutes or less.

The only rule is that you use the book title as your piece title OR integrate all the words in the title into your piece somehow

If you would like to have your piece considered for publication on Brave and Reckless and Whisper and the Roar, email your prompt inspired pieces to me…

Call Your MoC about Impeaching the Criminal in the WH — Week of Sunday 1 August 2019

Calico Jack – Why impeach? Lots of reasons – tell your MOC

The Psy of Life

We are all wanting to impeach the current squatter in the White House. No matter his crimes, we have to save the Resolute Desk from all the uric acid deposited onto it by all the pee-hookers the Ol’ Pussy Grabber is paying to piss on it… and American values.

With a judge slow-walking his tax returns, it is beyond time to openly declare an impeachment proceeding and get the documents and people before him and the American people! We shouldn’t have to explain this to anyone, amirite?

Impeachment

Now 135 House Dems support impeachment. To hear Steve Cohen (D – Tenn) tell it we are beyond impeachment inquiry, we are at impeachment proceedings. On Ari Melber’sThe Beat on MSNBC, he listed his reasons:

  • The Mueller Report cited ten possible instances of obstruction of justice and clearly illustrated that five of them met all three of the criteria.

Biden’s War Story: Gaffe, Lie, or Common Memory Error?

Calico Jack – Uncle Joe, memory, and story telling while being human

The Psy of Life

We all know the story about Biden’s scurrilous blatant lie about his war story! You know how he single handily won Pork Chop hill during the Viet Nam War while we defeated Hitler in the trenches with all the mustard gas? You know, that one?

I’mma make two points: (1) Ol’ Handsome Joe is a human being and (2) what the actual fuck is wrong with our press corpse as the kids like to say — I mean, they say, what the actual fuck and not calling the press corps, the press corpse. I am calling the press corps the press corpse because it so… okay, I’m sure you get it.

Here’s the story as reported by Nicole Wallace on Deadline White House on MSNBC. Okay, she quoted the Washington Post, but here’s what she said the post said. Biden got these…
