The Cubic Weight of Sadness – Christine E. Ray

Christine Ray – blanketed

Brave & Reckless

sadness
covers like
a blanket
of thick
wet snow
yardstick-deep
melancholy
weighs me
to the ground
masks my eyes
fills my nose
mouth
deadening
my senses
suffocating me
mere feet from
the warmth
safety
of the
open door
