the night might come with many stars
but it’s almost always overcast
in Chicago
clouds hang above the city
as if there’s no place else
they would rather be
stars
when seen
are few and far between
most lost in the glare of city lights
or hidden by pollution
and thick cloud cover
we know they’re there
the diamonds
that fill the night sky
gigantic suns
that look so tiny
to those of us
living on a spinning bit of rock
on the arm of an average spiral galaxy
we just can’t see them

I’m an artist, a writer, a vegetarian, an animal rights activist, and quite a few other things as well. I love books, cats, philosophy, good conversation, Chicago and the arts. So my blog is full of bits and pieces but it’s the bits and pieces that make life interesting to me…
