SCRAPINGS OF THE DAY

The Mar-A-Lago warrant and property receipt are included in this report. However this investigation turns out, and it does not at this point appear anywhere near finished, there some things about the situation I’ve been thinking about that we don’t know. We don’t know why Mr. Trump took these items with him. We don’t know whether they were carefully chosen or happened to be handy. We don’t know why he valued them enough to hang on to them despite being repeatedly informed that he was not authorized to do so (including by way of subpoena earlier this year). What we do know is that whatever value he saw in them, whatever protection, influence, leverage, or opportunity for trade or profit he may have seen in them, they are now gone, lost to him.
