It has long been taken as fact that suicides increase at the holidays. I learned that in grad school. These folks got the numbers and found it isn’t so. Thinking on that, I realize that when I was working Crisis, there was a bump up later, in January, along with the calls from relapsed drinkers and drugers looking for detox after the New Year.
The social media platforms want the news services to pay them to carry their content. A bill in Congress would allow the news companies to collectively bargain about the price.
This looks like a much better idea than desalinization if it works.
